Winged Sprint Cars, Super Modifieds, and Midgets competed for the highest paying short track asphalt open wheel purse of all-time in 2023, with over $250,000 awarded including $50,000 to the Sprint Car winner. Over 100 race teams descended on the Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and thousands watched live around the world on Speed Sport TV!

In 2024, the Open Wheel Showdown held another history making event at the Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on November 14-16!

The Open Wheel Showdown was founded by Davey Hamilton Jr. with his passion of pavement short track racing. This prestigious annual event brings competitors from all over the country to go for one of the biggest wins in the sport! Not only will the winners have bragging rights, this will give the chance for all competitors to race for good money in front of a lot of fans, viewers, and hopefully bring more opportunities for everyone.
